- A super-scarce version of one of the best sounding unofficial audio documents of the ’72 tour: the band’s July 26 date at Madison square garden, which was the occasion of Mick Jagger’s 29th birthday. Rumors swirled over the years that the tape, because of its professional clarity, was pilfered right from the MSG soundboard.

- FULL CIRCLE: Andy Warhol’s early career included designing album covers. He did a couple of Stones LPs over the years (Sticky Fingers, Love You Live). This shot, part of a series from 1975, was used for the rare ‘Emotional Tattoo’ bootleg of Emotional Rescue/Tattoo You/Some Girls mid-late ’70s recording sessions.

- One of my favorite one-of-kind items from my collection: an actual gate card that was hanging in Chicago Stadium during the Stones’ tour stop there in 1975, complete with nine different color-coded tickets (all unused, un-punched, and pristine, lightly glued to a thick paper stock backing) and seating directions for ticket-holders navigating the stadium for the Stones show. I obtained this unique item directly from the surviving son of a longtime vendor and employee of Chicago Stadium, who had passed away and who apparently, punched and collected tickets among other duties for many rock shows and sports events. Seems he had the foresight to save a few notable mementos from the era. This was one of them.

One of my favorite ’72 onstage shots of Mick in gold lame jacket, enviable rock & roll hair, cat-swallowed-mouse expression, and hand on hip.

- From the RPM: Life In Analog Darkroom Vaults: Here’s a special treat –a bangled fist full of ultra-rare, unpublished (until now) and scarcely seen images taken at the Stones benefit concert for the Nicaraguan earthquake victims at the Los Angeles Forum on January 18, 1973 by a Sports Illustrated photographer assigned to cover the Super Bowl. He had some extra time to kill and so brought his camera to the Fabulous Forum to check out the show. RPM managed to obtain the bulk of the stash: about 90 different slides from the film shot that day.
